Job Description
The Opportunity


Wajax (TSX:WJX) is seeking a commercial lawyer to join its corporate office team in Mississauga. This will be a hybrid 10-12 month contract position, reporting to the General Counsel. Primary responsibilities will include providing prompt, high quality legal guidance and support to busy regional and national business teams; drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements; and providing support in other areas of departmental responsibility, such as insurance and risk management. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with special projects, including acquisitions.


Requirements


  • 6-7 years relevant post-call experience gained at a well-respected law firm or corporate legal department.
  • J.D./LL.B from an accredited law school, a member in good standing of a provincial law society and a strong record of academic achievement.
  • Strong technical legal, problem solving and negotiation skills, a pragmatic and cooperative approach and good business judgement.
  • Experience gained in the distribution or industrial sector will be considered an asset, as will experience with procurement and technology agreements, and intellectual property matters.
