Skill Sets and Qualifications for Lab Consultant:

• Minimum 7+ years' experience as a clinical or applications analyst, computer technician in a healthcare setting required.

• Minimum 5+ years' experience establishing laboratory CPOE workflows in ambulatory care and acute care settings with Cerner EMR solutions; must have experience in implementing workflows that occur outside of the laboratory department.

• Must have strong experience with CPOE lab workflows in PowerChart. Knowledge of LIS’ is a benefit, but not required.

• Have a broad knowledge level of healthcare Information Technology (IT) principles, best practices, and an in-depth understanding of lab workflows to complete moderate to highly complex and multi-faceted assignments.

• Strong experience with defining future state laboratory CPOE workflows throughout the full laboratory lifecycle, with particular focus on pre and post analytical phases.

• Involvement with large scale EMR implementations in fast paced environments.

• Experience driving transformational changes in healthcare environments working closely with

physicians, nurses, clerks, ancillary department staff, and other key partners.

• Experience translating future state workflows to Cerner system designs.

• Familiar with change management/incident management processes.

• Proven ability to lead transformation within highly complex EMR implementation projects. Proven history of coordinating in a team-based project to produce high quality deliverables.

• Providing expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives, effectively dedicating time across more than one project, and meeting established deadlines.

• Applicable bachelor‘s degree in or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in large scale, fast faced healthcare environments.

• Must have strong Knowledge Cerner PowerChart and related functionality that supports Laboratory CPOE. LIS knowledge an asset but not required.

• Cerner certifications considered an asset but not required
