We have a unique position for a Junior Accountant role within our practice with advancement opportunities. We are looking for a high performing individual that can learn quickly and contribute to our team.

The incumbent will be working in a highly organized, fast-moving environment and be provided with exceptional training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure client deadlines are met.
• Commit to continuous learning and ability to problem solve independently.
• Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial journal entries and reports.
• Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.
• Liaise and correspond professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Ensure proper documentation is prepared for client engagements and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly.
• Participate in a wide range of client facing engagements including Compilation Engagements, Tax Compliance, and Consulting Engagements.
• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
• Maintain high quality control through self-review and collaboration with other team members.
• Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks.
• Desire to accept feedback to learn and constantly improve.

What You Bring:

• Basic understanding of business and accounting/tax principles.
• Must be able to provide a criminal background record check and at least two references.
• A positive attitude and commitment to learning and contributing to the organization.
• Ability to learn new software quickly and adapt rapidly.
• A postsecondary diploma with a focus in Accounting.
• Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service.
• Strong ethics and the ability to cope under pressure.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and an ability to learn quickly and to become familiar with cloud-based accounting systems.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and relevant cloud-based applications is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Being a team player is an absolute must.
• The willingness to be challenged mentally and the courage to offer up new ideas and suggestions.
• A desire to maintain a healthy work life balance.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience/proven ability to learn required skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and project management skills.
