Junior Accountant Jobs

Advantage Personnel is currently recruiting for the role of Junior Accountant on behalf of our client here in the St. John's Metro Region.

Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual who is exceptionally organized, detail oriented and is seeking growth within their role. The role oversees the financial operations of the company and is responsible for the complete accounting and auditing functions, preparing budgets, ensuring prompt payments to vendors and suppliers, preparing financial statement, payroll administration and ensuring that operations are fiscally sound. This role also oversees the administrative staff, assisting with the development of operational plans while incorporating the company's goals and objectives.

Available Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm

Rate of Pay: $29.00 to $35.00 an hour (Commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities

• Prepare Bank Reconciliations, monitor cash flow levels and prepare monthly financial statements;
• Participate in daily/monthly meetings and prepare related reports;
• Reconcile monthly supplier statements, prepare accounts payable cheques as needed, record monthly investment activity;
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, orientating, training, mentoring and evaluating administrative staff;
• Oversees building management including repairs and maintenance, and negotiate with related contractors regarding cost and deliverables.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations;
• Post accounts receivable invoices prepared by others, receive and post cash receipts, process and post monthly Electronic Fund Transfers (Recording changes), prepare and make daily deposits, Post accounts payable invoices, prepare monthly cheque runs, monitor member receivables on an ongoing basis, and initiate collection activities on overdue accounts;
• Co-ordinate payroll activity with payroll provider and post monthly payroll summaries;

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in managing operations, human resources, communications and finances.
• Demonstrated ability to team-building skills to lead, motivate and inspire others;
• Supplemented by an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Concentrated in Accounting) and a professional accounting designation;
• Demonstrated ability to analytical, problem solving, advisory, decision making, planning and organizational skills;
