DELIVERABLES

Looking for a motivated, relational, detail oriented, self-starter to take on a Junior Data Analyst role within their Product Support Team. the Portal/Product is an online platform designed to streamline the application process, while at the same time, support better-informed decision making at the Client.

The Product Support team is using an Agile, Kanban Methodology that specifically aligns to their software development process and business engagement needs.

DESCRIPTION

• Find and research problems for the data owners and review data quality thoroughly, by record and case.
• Assist in the triage of code and data issues
• Assist in the design, and maintenance of the corporate relational databases and data solutions.
• Creating and maintaining operational support documentation and adding to the team knowledge base
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and willingness to work on implementing them
• Consulting and collaborating with people to identify technical errors and requirements for resolution
• Participate in meetings, reviews, and other discussions as required
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to trouble-shoot data-related issues.
• Performing various database related tasks, including SQL database queries and scripts
• Provide mapping, and support documentation for the existing data model, and any changes to the data models.

Skills Required

• Understanding of data analysis, data migration, data modeling, and data architecture.
• Friendly and outgoing with a positive and cooperative attitude
• Experience with industry standard data models and data warehouse methodologies and design.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with previous practical experience in an agile/scrum project environment
• Experience and understanding of a variety of technologies and software, and the aptitude to expand their knowledge base as required.
• Able to successfully work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, with ability to multi-task
• Working on a support team and understanding the role(s) of each person on the support team
• Able to identify problems, creatively think of solutions, and decide on the best course of action regarding the situation.
• Strong writing skills and process documentation skills
• Experience with Data Modelling and database scripting to build and extend databases required by transactional systems.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to escalate a problem if and when necessary
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Experience using SQL and T-SQL in a Microsoft SQL Server production environment.
• Customer-service oriented, evidenced by a solution-focused, pro-active, self-starter mindset

Skill Recommended

• Experience in coding and scripting skills (MS SQL, PowerShell, Python)
• Experience working with SQL databases and relational databases (MS-QL & MYSQL).
• Experience in programming (2+ years)
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment tools such as Git
• Experience using Jira
