Position Overview
You're a champion for the user. You love working with fast-paced, cross-functional teams to distill complicated problems into simple and elegant solutions. You're self-motivated, autonomous, and a master of navigating ambiguity.
In this role, you'll have ownership of your projects and guide them through research, exploration, design, and delivery. You'll work closely with design mentors, product managers and engineers to solve meaningful problems. You'll have the opportunity to be curious, focused, and relentless in pursuit of great user experiences every single day. You will be working on high-impact initiatives with a lot of complexity.
Projects Previous Co-ops Have Worked On Include

• Refreshing a tool's information architecture (including research, user testing and running a team workshop) and
• Using existing patterns to design across Android, Web, Windows and iOS (including research and testing);

Responsibilities
Work with other members of the design team and cross-functional partnerships to ship experiences users love, including:

• Partner with Product Management to understand business needs and requirements.
• Help grow and evolve our design system
• Participate in design critique and other team initiatives
• Produce documentation, mock-ups, prototypes, journey maps and other design artifacts to help communicate thinking and intended user experience.
• Partner with the engineering team to explore technical constraints and effectively balance quality and speed.
• Work with our research team to draft testing plans to conduct user research, usability testing, etc.

Required
Skills / Qualification

• High energy, a positive outlook, an entrepreneurial spirit and ready to take initiative.
• Excited to work closely with other designers and cross-disciplinary partners. (Design is a team sport! :) )
• Able to think through complex problems.
• Strong growth-mindset and eager to learn.
• Experience with Figma, Sketch, Invision, or similar design and prototyping tools
• Demonstrated interest in design and/or user research, such as school projects, personal projects, freelance or past professional projects.

Preferred

• Experience in facilitation, service design and design thinking
• Previous experience working on cross-functional teams, shipping product, or with the construction industry
• Experience on creating for iOS, Android, Web or Windows.
