We’re looking for a self-starting, creative UX Intern to join our Athlon Studio team.

Manager, UX Research and Service Design

Designing and implementing scalable research and service design processes and tools.

Recruiting, managing and mentoring a distributed team of researchers and service designers.

Developing and implementing inclusive UX research and service design standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in UX research and service design.

Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, new functions and features.

Experience in working with brand guidelines utilizing an existing online design system

Partner with Product Management to understand business needs and requirements.

Produce documentation, mock-ups, prototypes, journey maps and other design artifacts to help communicate thinking and intended user experience.

Experience with Figma, Sketch, Invision, or similar design and prototyping tools

Experience in facilitation, service design and design thinking

Previous experience working on cross-functional teams, shipping product, or with the construction industry

Experience on creating for iOS, Android, Web or Windows.

3+ years team management experience, with testimonials or performance reviews demonstrating your UX leadership aptitude

Contributing to the evolution and management of the Canadian Design System

Preferably: previous experience in creating digital web applications for the financial and/or insurance industry

Lead the creation of exceptionally high-calibre UX and UI work

Explore different design directions and articulate for the user in each solution

Present to a wide range of project team members and stakeholders

Background in financial products and services, ideally in Wealth Management and/or Direct Investing

You will articulate and influence leaders across the organization to understand, engage, and support, prioritization of experience design as an investment.

Masters or Bachelor Degree in Human Factors, HCI, Design or related fields (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience leading UX and digital design teams in the redesign or reimagination of customer-facing marketing websites

Experience leading usability testing and validation using UX research tools such as Maze

Experience employing type, colour, image, grid systems and interaction principles in a way that is balanced, thinking through the smallest details

Translate UX insights into actionable recommendations that inform our marketing website redesign

Provide context, support, and guidance for team of UX/UI designers, inspiring not directing

Conduct testing and prototyping of our system in order to validate design choices

2+ years experience as a UX Designer lead

A minimum of 5 years professional experience creating user centered, UX designs grounded in data.

Experience leading UX designers or researchers

A collaborative nature with strong communication skills, sincerity, and you enjoy bringing order to intricate design challenges

Ability to internalize customer experiences and improve those experiences through significant change

Help the team explore several diverse solutions and validate the right solution with prototypes and quantitative/qualitative customer research

Strong time management and prioritization skills, along with strong verbal/written skills

Experience working directly with both internal and external developers, project managers, and product owners

Participate in peer reviews of design work to evaluate design techniques and overall success in meeting the compelling user experience objectives

Taking business and stakeholder needs and requirements and translating them into of design executions in Figma

Existing design portfolio, demonstrating wide-range of your talents and capabilities –from responsive web design to mobile application - and beyond

You have knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Material UI, etc.
