About The Team
Sitting within the Chief Investment Office (CIO) group, the Total Fund Investments (TFI) team aims to improve the likelihood that the Policy Portfolio will deliver on PSP’s value proposition. In order to accomplish this, the TFI team:

• Leads the rebalancing activities (assets and currencies) of the Total Fund to ensure exposures are aligned with desired Total Fund targets
• Determines, implements and manages the Target Portfolio’s desired asset-class exposures and currency exposures by incorporating business cycle dynamics to maximize the probability of achieving PSP’s mandate
• Determines the economic and financial scenario that feeds into our Medium-Term Capital Market Assumptions (MTCMAs), which influence our dynamic investment activities related to currencies and asset allocation for the Total Fund
• Establishes and oversees the Dynamic Asset Allocation, and Total Fund Currency Management (including Dynamic Currency Management)

About Your Role
As an Intern, Total Fund Investments, you’ll: 

• Perform top-down macroeconomic research in order to aid in the projection of global economic scenarios and the assessment of these scenarios on the different asset classes
• Provide technical assistance in improving the design and execution of the Dynamic Asset Allocation, Total Fund Currency Management, and rebalancing activities
• Assists in the development of tools and chart decks that will lead to a better understanding of the links between key economic/financial variables, as well as help produce medium-term forecasts for equities, bonds, commodities, currencies, and private assets

What You’ll Need

• Solid understanding of macroeconomics and of financial markets
• Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, creativity and openness to new ideas
• Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
• CFA/FRM title, an asset
• Knowledge of market data collection systems (Bloomberg, Datastream, etc.), an asset
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and programming software applications (Python, Eviews, Matlab, R, etc.), required
• Proactive, hardworking, result oriented and a recognized work ethic
• High academic achievement
• Ability to collect and analyze large amounts of information and quickly grasp complex issues
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics or a related field
