Job Description

Elias Custom Metal Fabrication Ltd. is an industry leader in custom metal fabrication. Our full-service range of in-house experts has allowed us to excel in the production of high-end retail fixtures and displays, electrical enclosures and custom commercial industrial and architectural work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Training - Work with Managers to identify training needs, coordinate and facilitate training as required
  • Manage work-related incident reports (WSIB, Return to Work, etc.)
  • Write/edit/improve and provide education on HR policies and procedures
  • Other HR Functions - Develop and deliver internal communication pieces
  • Benefit Administration - Act as the sole plan administrator for the company’s group benefit plan
  • Liaise with the payroll department
  • Develop and maintain employee relations and advise Managers on best practice techniques
  • Employee Relations - Act as a point of contact and resource for employees
  • Performance Management - Identify training opportunities, work with Managers to develop performance plans, manage discipline issues in conjunction with upper management
  • Recruitment - Execute recruitment process, source and interview candidates, liaise with agency partners, prepare new employee packages
  • Health and Safety - Manage the Health & Safety program and work with the JHSC
  • Develop and implement procedures and programs to ensure employee safety

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-starter, flexible and a confident, positive attitude
  • CHRP/L considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to use good judgment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or related field
  • Labour relations experience an asset
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and WSIB claims management
