We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist provides Human Resources Generalist/HRIS Specialist support to the Cambridge facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management & maintenance of Tenneco HRIS systems for the Cambridge facility; report generation for various internal and external recipients
  • Comply with requirements and assist in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (QS9000/ISO/TS16949/ISO14001) to ensure re-certification
  • Actively participate in ongoing continual improvement activities and initiatives
  • Assist in the development, implementation, communication and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
  • TS16949 and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor - conduct monthly departmental audits, interview salaried and hourly personnel to ensure compliance, identify non-compliance issues, submit written report and recommendations to QS9000 Coordinator
  • Manage and coordinate the plant communication plan, which includes sharing information, report generation and distribution to our population
  • Actively participate in the Tenneco EHS programs, which includes meeting objectives, adhering to policies and procedures, sharing ideas on improvements, etc
  • Manage and administer recognition and award programs, which includes event planning, particip, Green Card Program and Tenneco Improvement Plan.
  • Manage Provincial and Federal wage subsidy programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate Plant Manager's quarterly BOS sessions; create and communicate schedule; create presentation, prepare materials and roll out new programs, whenever necessary
  • Organize recruitment initiatives, conduct interviews and hire students, hourly skilled and semi-skilled employees; manage and coordinate new hire onboarding process
  • Assist in the development of annual training plan, maintain training records, deliver various training initiatives and manage timely scheduling of regulated training
  • Collect and report monitoring data in support of the EHS management system
  • Responsible for Security management; create and update policies; train and support staff during introduction of new protocols, processes and personnel; ensure staff have necessary tools to perform their duties; in consultation with staff and Securitas management, oversee annual Post Order review process; resolve issues that arise due to communication errors
  • Educational Assistance Program Coach and Administrator for Supervisory staff, salaried and hourly workforce
  • Provide assistance and support to employees that have questions or concerns regarding benefit coverage and our insurance provider
  • Coordinate weekly employee movement and vacation requests


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Thorough knowledge of Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe PhotoShop and Human Resources Information Systems
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Tact, diplomacy and superior relationship-building skills
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP)
  • Current knowledge of and experience with variety of HRIS processes and applications
  • Three to five years HR Generalist/HRIS Specialist experience
  • Detail-oriented/strong follow-through skills and creativity essential
