ATCO is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Electricity HR team! You will have the opportunity to support all levels of business leaders across Alberta and provide guidance to several client groups to help achieve their people and business objectives.

What You Get to Do:


  • Provide day-to-day advice, direction, and counsel to leadership with respect to interpretation of collective agreements and employee relation matters of assigned client groups.
  • Provide recommendations and input to Human Resources initiatives and programs related to compensation, recruiting, union/management and employee/management relations and communication.
  • Take part in HR committees and projects, providing leadership when required.
  • Participate in building strong union/management relationships to assist in resolving labour relations issues, including promoting progressive labour relations framework.
  • Counsel/coach business leaders on the most effective solutions to resolve issues and support long-term objectives.
  • Using established change management techniques to support the ongoing transformation within ATCO.
  • Work with business leaders and the HR centers of excellence (COE) to promote a high-performance, results driven culture with the implementation of new HR initiatives and programs.
  • Lead grievance processes and participate in arbitration processes.
  • Collaborate and work proactively with business leaders to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through HR practices, processes, or policies.
  • Investigates and resolves complex and sensitive employee relations issues for assigned client groups.


Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience with grievance management and arbitration processes.
  • HR experience with a demonstrated proficiency in Labour Relations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities with various stakeholders including executives, field staff, and union executives.
  • Demonstrable skills in investigation, negotiation, influence, interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, or equivalent experience
