SUMMARY:

We are currently looking for aHuman Resources Assistantto join our team in ourBellevillebranch, located at405 College Street East, Belleville, ON.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Opportunities for hybrid flexibility
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-Time, 40 hours/week

*Wage commensurate with experience


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Processes documentation, prepares various HR reports and tracks manager/employee completion of various HR items.

2. Assists with the administration of payroll and benefits including:

  • Tracks benefits premium payments for those on leave.
  • Communicates benefits program information to new employees and process enrolments according to established procedures.
  • Enters/verifies time card data for employees. Support Managers/Supervisors to ensure verifications and approvals are obtained within prescribed time limits. Verify the accuracy of agency payroll invoicing.

3. Updates the HRIS system with new employee information or changes to existing employee information.

4. Assists with recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

  • Coordinates pre-employment verifications and medicals according to company procedures.
  • Prepares and post internal and external job postings.
  • Prepares and follow up on new employee documentation, onboarding training and employee feedback meetings.
  • Prepares offer letters and organization announcements.

5. Assists with the coordination of training and development activities.

  • Assists with the organization of internal and external training and development activities such as registrations, booking of rooms, printing f materials and catering arrangements.
  • Monitors training completion rates and follow-up with managers to ensure compliance with various legislated requirements.
  • Maintains training records.

6. Participates in the development and execution of employee engagement programs and initiatives:

  • Administers service recognition program, including awards program, and milestone recognition program.
  • Social calendar events

7. Initiates disability and WSIB claims and prepares safety incident data.

8. Keeps all department-related electronic paper and filing up to date and accurate.

9. Responds to general employee inquiries.

10. Executes other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage highly confidential information
  • Strong organization skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Minimum 2 Years’ previous experience in Human Resources
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, preferred
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Canva
  • Attention to detail, commitment to follow-up
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems; experience with Workday preferred
