The duties and qualifications are listed below and previous hotel leadership experience is essential.All candidates will be notified through the shortlisting process.


DUTIES

  • Daily yield and revenue management.
  • Analysis of and subsequent reporting to the principals regarding the day-to-day, month-to-month and annual financials including budgeting and forecasting, cash flow projections together with presentation of recommendations for growth and development.
  • Administer all hotel policies and procedures including those related to banking, deposits, reconciliations, cash handling, credit cards, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and benefits, staffing, inventory, etc.
  • Knowledge of food sanitation, inspection and hotel inventory control per all local and regional regulations.
  • Together with the Comptroller, preparation of the day-to-day, month-to-month and annual financials for the property.
  • Ensure the safety and protection of the hotel guests and staff.
  • Promote sustainable practices.
  • Daily management of all OTAs and social media sites.
  • All necessary sales & marketing tasks to ensure continued revenue growth.
  • Contract negotiations and implementation of all relevant services including any leases, food services, waste management, etc.
  • Attend conferences, as necessary, including the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and other local business association meetings as a representative of the hotel.

Qualifications Required

  • Exceptional decision-making and analytical abilities.
  • Proven financial analytical background including a firm grasp of computerized basic bookkeeping (knowledge of Sage/Simply accounting and Visual Matrix or WebRezPro, an asset).
  • Hotel experience at the Senior Management level with an emphasis on financial analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to be collaborative and enjoy sharing ideas.
  • Previous experience working with a top tier brand an asset.
  • Up-to-date understanding of and hands-on experience with all forms of Social Media.
  • Extraordinary staff relations and a clear understanding of British Columbia labour standards.
