Geotechnical Engineer Jobs

Role Description

Rideau & Harvest Engineering is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This is a remote role and the successful candidate will be responsible for providing geotechnical engineering services to our clients. The day-to-day tasks associated with this role include:

• Knowledge of using falling weight deflectometer and slope inclinometer devices (would be considered an asset)
• Preparing geotechnical reports
• Designing and developing geotechnical solutions for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analysis (GeoSlope), and subgrade improvement for roads
• Liaising with clients and other stakeholders
• Preparation of Geotechnical Tender Packages
• Perform Laboratory tests such as Atterberg limits, proctor tests, direct shear tests, sieve analysis, and basic concrete test per CSA standards
• Monitoring and evaluating geotechnical projects
• Providing technical advice and support
• Conducting geotechnical investigations and assessments
• Development of geotechnical laboratory templates

Qualifications

• Relevant Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional engineering (P.Eng.) license or P.Eng. obtained within a year.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and engineering design; experience with geotechnical software; ability to interpret geotechnical data.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data; problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational and time management skills.
