General Attendant Jobs

General Attendant is responsible for all general duties requiring completion within the building in an efficient and cooperative manner with due consideration to the residents.

Is responsible for supporting residents in maintaining independence while also delivering quality service as needed.

Must be available mornings/afternoons and overnight shifts.

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Must be well groomed and have the physical capabilities to complete tasks including stooping, bending, walking, and standing for long periods of time.

Demonstrates abilities to maintain patience, care and understanding dealing with geriatric residents. Recognizes the need for the elderly to maintain independence as possible to preserve self worth and dignity, promoting this concept to all other staff.

Completes resident services listed on GA timeline such as stand by shower assist, medication reminders, dressing/undressing, tray services, escorts and documents completed services accurately.

Responds to emergency pendants.

Ensures that safety procedures are adhered to at all times, keeps all work areas clean, organized and orderly.

Covers reception desk when unoccupied - answers and directs calls, provides information to residents, family and other visitors, assists with tasks as directed.

Participates in the Residence's ongoing Fire Prevention, Pest Control, Continuous Quality Improvement, occupational Health and Safety, and Infection Control programs as required.
