Founded in 2011 in Ontario, Pridham’s offers professional auction and appraisal services. We specialize in selling valuables such as, fine art, decorative arts, fine furniture, silver, jewellery, Canadiana, First Nations and Asian art, as well as militaria. We sell to the global market and offer appraising for any type of valuation needs.
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive and energetic self-directed individual who can work collaboratively with our team as the gallery receptionist/administrative assistant. In this role, you are the first person our customers meet when they enter through our doors or write us via email, and we want to ensure we provide everyone with a warm, courteous and professional welcome.
This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the gallery.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
·Answering the telephone and greeting clients
·Handling, triaging, and responding to correspondence
·Processing incoming and outgoing mail/courier packages
·Purchasing office supplies and equipment
·Responsible for updating client mail lists
·Required to keep electronic and paper files in order
·Perform internet searches when required
·Help in organizing the gallery for auctions (this will require lifting and/or moving of valuable objects)
·Other clerical tasks as required
Qualifications/Skills Required
·Degree in Art History or similar an asset
·Experience in dealing with front of the line client services, reception and phone answering
·Experience using MS Office 365 and Outlook
·Previous experience using project management systems and databases, such as Monday.com
·Ability to multitask, prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
·Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to pay attention to details
·At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
·Bilingualism (English/French written/spoken) is required
