HR Desk has partnered with one of the leading importers and exporters of frozen fruits and vegetables. They pride themselves on providing high-quality products to their customers around the world. They are currently seeking a Food Safety and Quality Control Specialist to ensure that their products meet the highest safety and quality standards.
Job Overview:
The Food Safety and Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive food safety and quality control & auditing programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the operations team to ensure that all products meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality control procedures
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to food safety and quality
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications
- Work with suppliers to ensure that all raw materials meet our quality standards
- Develop and maintain product specifications and quality standards
- Develop and implement a comprehensive food safety, quality control & auditing program
- Develop and deliver training programs on food safety and quality control to employees
- Keep up-to-date with changes to food safety regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid passport for travel purposes will be required as needed
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety and quality control
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of SAP as an asset
- Experience working in a frozen food manufacturing or import/export environment is preferred
