Food Safety & Quality Control Specialist

HR Desk has partnered with one of the leading importers and exporters of frozen fruits and vegetables. They pride themselves on providing high-quality products to their customers around the world. They are currently seeking a Food Safety and Quality Control Specialist to ensure that their products meet the highest safety and quality standards.

Job Overview:

The Food Safety and Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive food safety and quality control & auditing programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the operations team to ensure that all products meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality control procedures
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to food safety and quality
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications
• Work with suppliers to ensure that all raw materials meet our quality standards
• Develop and maintain product specifications and quality standards
• Develop and implement a comprehensive food safety, quality control & auditing program
• Develop and deliver training programs on food safety and quality control to employees
• Keep up-to-date with changes to food safety regulations and industry best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid passport for travel purposes will be required as needed
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety and quality control
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Working knowledge of SAP as an asset
• Experience working in a frozen food manufacturing or import/export environment is preferred
