The Work

The Northern New Brunswick Forest Operations Division is looking to fill a Truck and Transport Mechanic Assistant position with a reliable and motivated person who demonstrates a positive attitude towards teamwork.

• Comply with all established safety policies and standards, including the identification, use and appropriate procedures for handling or disposing of hazardous waste.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Repair and overhaul mechanical, hydraulic and mobile pneumatic equipment.
• Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities, including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance of equipment.

Your Qualifications

• Be able to communicate in French
• Experience in welding and repair of forestery equipment considered an asset.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be autonomous and thorough.
• Meet JDI's selection criteria.
• Must be able to work in a flexible, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
• Education required: High School Diploma or Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Truck and Transport Block will be considered as an asset.
