JOB SUMMARY
TheFood Safety Coordinator at Legends Haul, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality within the meat manufacturing and distribution operations.The ideal candidatewill be responsible for developing and implementing food safetyand qualityprograms, monitoring and auditing processes, and providing training and support to employees to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Audits and inspections: plan and conduct internal food safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with food safety protocols and identify areas ofimprovement
- Regulatory compliance: stay updated with local, national, and international food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines, and ensure compliance throughout the organization
- Develop and implement food safety programs: design, implement, and maintain food safety programs and systems, such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to prevent, control, and mitigate food safety risks
- Documentation and record-keeping: maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all food safety activities, including audits, inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and summaries for management and regulatory agencies
- Risk assessment and analysis: conduct regular risk assessments and analysis of food safety hazards, including biological, chemical, and physical hazards, to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively
- Continuous improvement: stay informed about emerging food safety trends, technologies, and best practices
- Training and education: develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on food safety practices, hygiene standards, proper handling ,and storage of food products
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with food processing, manufacturing, and distribution practices is an asset
- Prior experience in food safety auditing or regulatory compliance is an asset
- Prior experience working in a quality control or food safety position, specifically in the food and beverage industry is required.
- Excellent understanding of food safety hazards and risk assessment methodologies
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices, such as HACCP andGMPs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree , diploma, and / or a current studentin food science, microbiology, or a related field is an asset
- Effective communication and training skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
