Food Inspector - Fisheries

Responsibilities:

• Open carton to check contents
• Determine the frozen net weight and the deglazed net weight
• Weigh Product
• Weigh the sub sample and record data as the frozen glazed net weight
• Empty product onto a sanitized surface and separate broken product from not broken
• Separate the usable broken from the unusable broken weigh each and record
• Use the scale and tare the weight of the basket
• Deglaze each individual product cluster by placing the cluster under the water spray and rubbing briskly with hands until there is no glaze that can be seen or felt.
• Deglaze product per AOA
• Take Cartoned product out of refrigerated area
• Check product for defects or odors
• Set up the sieves/baskets near sinks

Requirements:

• Capable of working with no lifting restrictions
• Able to work quickly in order to record the frozen deglazed weight
• Capable of communicating clearly and concisely
• Relevant experience in the fisheries industry is preferred
• Able to work in cold atmosphere
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
