You will be working on using small gauges to check tubes

Must be able to use small hand tools

Deburring and checking tubes for defects

You will need to check that quality meets all product expectations according to specific work orders

Report inspection issues to the Project Manager

Ideally 5+ years of field or construction related experience as contract administrator /inspector

Experience with municipal and land development construction projects; consulting experience an asset

Exceptional organization and follow-up skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Power Line Technician, or Electrician Certificate, or equivalent Electrical Engineering education/experience.

Issue Safety Non-Compliance Reports if required. Monitor contractor’s corrective actions for violations of safety practices, plans and procedures or regulatory requirements.

Working knowledge of the Electrical Utility Safety Rules and industry safe work practices.

Knowledge of Toronto Hydro Rule Book, THESL Distribution Standards, and Book 7 would be an asset.

Assists in harbour administration including proactive planning and management of the commercial and non-commercial activity.

Advises Management on issues or situations that may pose potential risks to the interests of Port of Thunder Bay.

Monitors non-commercial activities within the harbour to assure appropriate administration of safety, security, and risk management aspects.
