As a Marine Logistics Manager you’ll be responsible for overseeing all marine log distribution and operations.Your job is ensure timely delivery of logs to all facilities and customers, and support the Log Delivery Team with managing all dry and wet sort locations, barging, towing, and restoring operations.

- Consistent work schedule: Monday - Friday schedule day shift
- Provide all contact management to facilities, managing log sort employees, production planning and tracking, budgeting, HSMS and EMS program implementation, capital planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide safety leadership throughout the marine supply chain, maintain standards like Safe Work Procedures and SOP’s to establish performance expectations throughout the supply chain and maintain compliance with all legislation and regulations including but not limited to the Forest Act and Timber Transport Regulations
- Inventory reporting, establishing systems and standards for maintenance of logs, boomstick and gear inventories and ensuring compliance with company standards
- Oversee all marine logistics, log delivery team members including barging, towing and resorting operations, and contract staff
- Works with finance and senior management to develop log distribution strategy and identify opportunities to streamline log supply chain and drive cost efficiencies.
- Handling all contract management of logistics service providers and contractors that also includes negotiating barge and towing rates, which includes working with Logistics on various delivery methods that meet customer costs and requirements, also working with finance to share reports, and monthly costs for financial results for the log delivery business unit.
- A minimum of 7+ years’ of experience in the Forestry Industry
- Proficiency with technology and software such as Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems
- Experience with creating systems, establishing processes and standard operating procedures
- A great attitude that includes being committed to doing quality work
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Forestry related degree
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask
- Strong commitment to safety values and experience with LOTO
- Experience in a sawmill or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the lumber and forestry market and manufacturing
- Experience with coastal harvesting, handling log practices, and Log distribution (barging, towing, booming)
- Experience with 3Log Inventory Management System (LIMS)
- RPF designation
- Scaling Ticket
