Job Description

The Role

In this role, you will work closely with clients to provide expert guidance on environmental impact assessments, sustainability strategies, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of junior staff members, providing mentorship and training to help them grow and develop in their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Senior Environmental Manager include, but are not limited to:

· Conduct environmental impact assessments and provide guidance on environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

· Provide technical support and advice to clients on environmental issues.

· Manage environmental projects, including budgeting, scheduling, report preparation, and quality control.

· Conduct site visits and fieldwork, as required, to gather information for project development, implementation, and completion.

· Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

· Prepare reports and presentations on environmental issues, including findings, recommendations, and regulatory compliance status.

· Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.

· Keep abreast of new and emerging environmental regulations and trends.

· Develop new business opportunities, seek out new work, and prepare proposals accordingly.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Senior Environmental Manager are:

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.

· 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on environmental impact assessments, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

· Professional designation or certification, such as R.P.Bio., P.Eng., R.P.F., or eligibility to attain.

· Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations.

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Knowledge of relevant environmental standards, policy, regulations, and legislation.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
