Scope of position:

Responsible for the month-ends while reporting to Paris – first week of each month. Participate on the BFC upload of the sales number compiled form all the OpCo’s in Canada. Prepare all the required forms for Statistics Canada. Prepare PowerPoint board presentation for the President of Sonepar Canada. Daily follow up of cash with the bank.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the preparation of complete and accurate monthly consolidated financial information and Report to HQ.
• Prepare/validate/reconcile various reports.
• Analyze the processes under your responsibility and contribute to their improvement
• Contribute to the realization of the financial presentations.
• Be involved in finance projects (Implementing financial tools, KPIs, Formalizing accounting documentation.
• Collaborate in Sonepar Canada's month-end closing processes and oversee, monitoring and analyzing operational entities.
• Assist the Corporate Controller in the preparation of various analyses for senior management and the parent company.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in close collaboration and good communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups.
• 3+ years experience in a similar position, ideally in a retail or distribution business.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS rules.
• Bilingual in English and French (oral and written).
• An analytical mind and detail oriented; inquisitive, with the ability to work conscientiously and consistently.
• The ability to analyze and summarize information to understand findings and issues.
• Advanced computer skills including Office suite, Excel spreadsheets, Power BI, ERPs, BFC, and Programming (an asset).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) or in the process of obtaining the CPA designation.
