POSITION TITLE: Financial Analyst (1-Year Contract)
LOCATION: Vaughan, Ontario

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
Financial Analyst will work on financial data analysis to support the tactical and strategic goals of UPGC, as well as provide direct support to Senior Management and fellow associates.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, coordinate and develop the annual budget, COS budget for the assigned brand by working closely with the procurement & supply chain team.
• Develop monthly forecasts for Inflation (Latest Estimates); provide insights and commentaries into variances by working closely with cross-functional teams; ensure reporting has been reviewed with cross-functional teams and completed as per agreed timelines.
• Prepare sales rebates with a high level of accuracy , signing bonuses or TRQ allocations for payment to franchisees as requested while collaborating with finance team members to maintain the integrity of store mapping data to the current Supply Chain Management system (ArrowStream).
• Create financial models, graphs, and other trending reports to support decision making using various systems/software (Supply Chain Management solution, Sage 300, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Azure, PowerPoint presentations)
• Responsible for assigned month-end financial accounting functions, including but not limited to monthly journal entries, revenue accruals, monthly cross-charges, fixed assets depreciation schedule, invoicing, A/R reconciliations, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform the Financial Health Check analysis (using the D&B risk analytics portal, financial ratio analysis)
• Assist in the Annual Financial Audit
• Collaborate with the cross-functional teams on ad-hoc Invoice Price Verification (IPV) analysis.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of the current Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution reporting tool to support the finance department with reporting needs.
• Additional duties as requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Core Skills and Competencies:
• Must have a strong financial-analysis foundation to be able to create financial models, forecasts.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, intermediate knowledge of Access and PowerPoint, with an interest to further learning and development of technical and analytical skills
• Aptitude to synthesize a high volume of data to create reports which translate into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated understanding of Canadian accounting standards under ASPE and working knowledge of various accounting systems
• A creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and develop proactive solutions.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable interacting with management, franchisees, and other stakeholders.
• Organizational & time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• A flexible individual that works well under pressure
• High energy approach to managing competing priorities and acting with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Education and Experience:
• University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related degree
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar capacity
• CPA or working towards completing CPA Accounting designation.
