We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Academic Director to lead our dedicated ESL teachers and support staff in achieving success at our small to mid-sized ESL school.
We are seeking a candidate who can effectively identify areas for improvement within the school and propose solutions that align with the needs of our marketing team and students, bridging any existing gaps at RCIIS. About the school
RCIIS is a designated learning institute located in midtown Toronto, providing ESL education to international students.
Responsibilities
As the Academic Director, your key responsibilities will include:
•Managing teaching staff, including recruiting, scheduling ESL programs, training, and performance reviews.
•Evaluating, supporting, and enhancing teaching methods and instruction.
•Overseeing day-to-day academic operations and troubleshooting academic issues.
•Developing new curriculum, and periodically reviewing curriculum.
•Ensuring implementation, observance, and development of school academic policies, regulations, and procedures.
•Providing professional training, guidance, and resources on student academic issues, such as discipline procedures.
·Ensuring follow up of student suggestions, issues, complaints and disciplinary matters to satisfactory and timely resolutions
•Performing all duties associated with school inspections by the Ministry and Languages Canada.
•Understanding university and college ESL pathway programs, maintaining relationships with existing partners, and actively developing new recruitment opportunities.
•Communicating and coordinating with other departments to achieve successful school operations and high student’s satisfaction rate.
Education & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
•A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
•A TESL Canada or TESL Ontario certificate or equivalency.
•2-3 years of classroom teaching experience at ESL schools in Canada or overseas.
•Experience in managing a team no less than 10.
•Experience with learning technology such as MS Office and Zoom.
•Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
•The ability to anticipate challenges and plan ahead.
•The ability to work well under pressure and respond to multiple requests simultaneously.
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to develop clear instructional/informational resources.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary range:annual salary $53,000-63,000.
