The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) focuses on reducing poverty, creating opportunities and increasing inclusion. The ministry provides strategic leadership and quality services that empower British Columbians to share in the province’s prosperity, with a vision to participate fully in their community and to reach their full potential.

The Equity Internship Program (EIP) is a 12-month internship pilot program for those that identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) and/or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, Two-Spirit and/or other community members (LGBTQ2S+). The goals of the EIP are to encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ people to consider careers within SDPR, recruit a more representative workforce, support the development of leadership skills and help close social and economic gaps between BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ people and other British Columbians.

The BC Public Service is committed to creating a diverse workplace to represent the population we serve and to better meet the needs of our citizens. Consider joining our team and being part of an innovative, inclusive and rewarding workplace.
