About Tourism Langley:
Tourism Langley is a Destination Management Organization (D.M.O.), and not-for-profit society, governed by an independent Board of Directors who is mandated to deliver effective marketing strategies that will generate increased visitation, extended stays, more revenues and increased daily expenditures for businesses in the Township of Langley.

Tourism Langley is seeking a passionate, outgoing individual to welcome visitors to Langley during the 2023 summer season. The Destination Specialist will assist with travel inquiries and lead the mobile visitor services program by attending local events. They will also provide support when required to members of the Tourism Langley team. Positions will range from 25 to 35 hours per week and will run from approximately May 12th – September 11th, 2023. Work week will most often be Friday - Monday.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attend local events to promote visitation and extended stays
- Promote local accommodations, activities, events, attractions and businesses
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures as well as Covid-19 Protocols outlined by Tourism Langley
- Other additional administrative duties as required.
- Welcome visitors to Langley in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Assist in creating Social Media Content such as Tiktoks, Facebook and Instagram reels and stories
- Answer visitor inquiries in person, on the phone and through email
- Provide accurate community information and distribute where and when required
- Keep website up to date with current events and stakeholder information
- Comply with professional dress code and grooming standards
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Exceptional knowledge of Langley and the Fraser Valley
- Ability to interact and work well with people from other cultures
- Valid B.C. driver’s license, a driving record from ICBC must be provided by the successful candidates. The Visitor Services Specialists will be required to drive the company vehicle of a Ford F-150 towing our small boler trailer that acts as our mobile visitor centre
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills, adaptable and a quick learner
- A friendly, outgoing nature
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office software
- Strong understanding of social media and comfortable creating content for social media as well as being recorded or photographed for use on social media (photography experience is an asset)
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and be on your feet for hours at a time in the outdoors.
- Good descriptive, experiential writing skills
- Fluent in English (a second language is an asset)
- Valid Social Insurance Number and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Available to work on weekends and public holidays
