Renumeration: 50-60K/year paid Bi-Weekly

Position: Gender Equity Project Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gender Equity Project Manager to lead our initiatives in advocating for gender equality. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects aimed at promoting gender equity within our local community, the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Together with a dedicated team, you will play a critical role in addressing the social, economic, and political barriers faced by women and girls, especially those of Indigenous descent.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement gender equity projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
-Review all internal policies and procedures to remove systemic biases against women.
-Conduct comprehensive research to identify the root causes of gender inequalities and develop strategies to address them effectively.
-Collaborate with community partners to design and deliver gender-inclusive programs and initiatives.
-Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure resource allocation aligns with project goals.
-Monitor project progress and evaluate the impact of interventions, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
-Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
-Provide leadership and guidance to project staff, ensuring their professional growth and development.
-Prepare project reports and present findings to senior management and funding partners.
Qualifications:
-Degree in Gender Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience managing gender equity projects, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
-In-depth understanding of gender issues, feminist theories, and current trends in gender equity.
-Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, and monitoring.
-Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply intersectional frameworks.
-Experience working with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, especially with urban Indigenous populations.
-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from various backgrounds.
-Proficiency in project management tools and software.
-Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
