Engineering Manager - Music

The Music Mission team owns Spotify's end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Fans First team – Spotify’s team dedicated to helping artists reward and monetize their fans with unique offers. As a leader of this engineering team, you will be tasked with establishing healthy team practices, translating product strategy to iterative technical delivery, challenging and helping grow your team members. This role will provide you with the opportunity to influence our team culture, helping teams learn as they deliver, partnering to drive our product strategy, and creating an environment that continuously improves our excellence in execution. You will also partner closely with the product and design leads to manage key stakeholders and support formation of foundational strategy.

What You'll Do

• Nurture a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in-line with our values.
• Facilitate cross-functional partnership between engineers, product managers, and designers to set the right goals and solve problems across our platform.
• Build, lead and serve an effective team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development.
• Advocate for and implement engineering best-practices and develop technical strategy to guide short and long-term plans.
• Work closely with your team and external stakeholders to enable sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
• Partner with other leaders as we craft and evolve an agile, learning organization.

Who You Are

• You have a track record of driving multi-stakeholder projects.
• You love developing and growing engineers across different disciplines and have a track record of doing so; you thrive when developing great people, not just great products.
• You have experience in cultivating a strong engineering culture in an iterative, agile environment.
• You have at least 4+ years of experience managing a high performing team.
• You have led complex engineering efforts, and know what it takes to deliver while still having a healthy team.
• You are passionate about teamwork and collaboration, while coaching and mentoring software developers to deliver timely, high-quality software.

The United States base range for this position is $156,275 - $223,250, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
