Engineer In Training Jobs

Our client, a major Energy company, is seeking 2 Engineer in Training to work a 1-year contract in Chatham, ON.

Responsibilities

·Create, update, and maintain hydraulic pipe models.

·Examine, design, and analyze the effects of system operations on reliability and propose infrastructure solutions, such as reinforcements, where required.

·Evaluate impacts on the system when new customer connections or customer growth are identified.

·Incorporate short-term and long-term customer addition targets into the forecast analysis.

·Identify changes in customer usage patterns, incorporating these changes into the load gathering program and department design standards to ensure the accuracy of the annual simulation and forecast analyses.

·Analyze and forecast short and long-range distribution system operating and infrastructure requirements under varying conditions.

·Create contingency plans to ensure system reliability and minimize system disruption to support emergency response.

·Provide consultation to internal groups, such as Operations, Gas Control, Construction, Engineering, Integrity, Sales, etc.

Qualifications

·Related university Engineering degree and up to 2 years of experience.

·Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

·Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·Knowledge of fluid dynamics or hydraulic modeling is an asset – experience with Synergi software is most preferred.

Work Schedule

·Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week.
