The available positions can be based out of our offices in Mississauga, Kincardine, Courtice and Port Elgin, Ontario.
How will you contribute to the team?
This is a site role based at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Courtice Ontario, supporting the refurbishment of the Darlington NGS Units.
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Performing all Engineering activities in compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations.
  • Communicate closely with the Bruce Power OE representatives to ensure timely turnaround of NCRs and FCRs.
  • Performing the Engineering function as it pertains to the scope of work assigned.
  • Demonstrate competence in the conventional aspects of at least one engineering field or discipline.
  • There is no requirement to supervise others, although checking of work of support staff may be required occasionally.
  • Assisting the Series Leads and Construction team during reactor inspections and component installation..
  • Escalate any field concerns to the Resident Engineering Manager as required.
  • Work in one of the areas of:
  • Assignments and activities will be performed under close supervision of an engineer in an upper grade and are frequently designed to develop work knowledge and capabilities in a field of engineering and standard Company practices.
  • Monitor construction execution and help ensure procedures and process is being followed.
  • Initiate and/or suggest dispositions for any non-conformances or field changes as required.
What will you contribute?
  • Statistical knowledge is beneficial.
  • Must have superior technical written skills and the ability to effectively interface with staff, project management and customers.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, as applied to self-managing multiple, simultaneous work assignments.
  • Relevant Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Nuclear Engineering from a university of recognized standing
  • Ability to understand and consistently meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Post-graduate degree(s) will also be considered.
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and plan, with an orientation toward service, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Effective problem solver with a results-oriented approach and ability.
All new grads will be part of our New Grad Development Program for 02 years.
