The Position
Sproule is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team as an Energy Advisory Analyst. The overall objective of this role is to support the Energy Advisory team to execute mandates and new business initiatives. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work with Sproule’s clients from around the globe and gain exposure to the technical and financial aspects of a transaction through upstream oil & gas advisory, carbon management, and energy transition projects.
Responsibilities
The Energy Advisory Analyst responsibilities include:
- Conducting industry, economic and financial research to support pitches and active mandates
- Maintaining and building databases of financial and market data used in client proposals
- Working closely with senior and intermediate advisory professionals
- Participating in client projects and transactions
- Building robust financial models for valuation purposes
- Collaborating with other team members in identifying and exploring potential new business opportunities
Required Education & Experience
- Experience using data visualization tools (Spotfire, Power BI, Excel)
- 1 - 2 years of relevant experience acquired in investment banking, management consulting, research, private equity, or other similar roles
- Related designations (e.g. CFA / CBV.) an asset
- Experience preparing high quality pitches / presentations / proposals
- Energy industry experience (upstream, midstream, or energy transition)
- Undergraduate degree (business or engineering)

- Ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment is essential
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player that can work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive, entrepreneurial
- Demonstrates a high degree of reliability and accountability
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
