Electrical Engineer, P.Eng, Intermediate
Permanent Position

GN2 Engineering seeks a professional Electrical Engineer to join our team. GN2 is an employee-owned multi-discipline engineering firm located in Edmonton.We provide a wide range of services to help our clients successfully navigate projects from concept to close-out. As a medium-sizedathletic engineering provider, we have the flexibility and expertise to exceed client expectations in terms of cost, schedule and quality. GN2 has considerable experience with tailings systems, on-pond assets, pipelines, civil, mechanical, electrical, controls & instrumentation, plant piping networks, process skids and dewatering systems. Our focus is to act in the best interest of our clients and develop long term relationships with them.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with design team members to ensure design documents are completed according to schedule
- Specification of diesel generator systems
- Completion of other relevant duties as required.
- Identify that drawings meet specific dimensions, materials, and proceduresoutline while correcting any deviations.
- Develop protection and control settings for motor/feeder relays (GE, SEL, etc.)
- Work closely with design team members to ensure design documents arecompleted according to deadlines.
- Design electrical control and power distribution systems (15kV and below)
- Read and interpret client engineering drawings and specifications
- Sizing, selection and specification of VFD’s
- Collaborate with the engineering team making any necessary alterations todocuments.

- Establish and modify personal work processes according to industryguidelines and procedures.
- Independently perform Arc Flash, short circuit, Load Flow, motor starting and system coordination studies
- Prepare single line drawings, load lists, cable schedule, motor wiring schematics
- Design and detailed analysis of grounding systems
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Willing to learn new CAD software.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada, living in Alberta.
- Must be registered, as an P.Eng. with APEGA
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
