Electrical Engineer

SCOPE

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for project engineering, development & execution. You will also be responsible for the power distribution system and related reliability projects, communications and controls system and engineering systems management. Strong organizational and communication skills are required for this position.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assisting with the design and implementation of controls to support major projects
• Work with E&I and Operations departments to optimize mill performance
• Project-based design, engineering, and implementation
• Project planning, execution, and supervision
• Engineering systems management (drawings, standards, specifications)
• Management of power distribution and power generation system safety and reliability projects
• Preparation of 2D drawings using AutoCAD (SCADA, SLDs, Communications, etc.)
• Use of the CMMS for workflow and cost management
• Assist with project construction, commissioning, and handover
• Contractor management and supervision

Qualifications

• Experience with project delivery and management systems
• Experience with protection and process controls design, implementation, and commissioning
• Experience with AutoCAD and CMMS software (MAXIMO)
• Registered or eligible to be registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer
• Experience with industrial power distribution, controls systems and/or safety controls systems (Delta V, Allen Bradley PLC, safety PLCs, energy isolation systems, SCADA, etc.)
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software
• Electrical Engineering degree
• Previous process control experience in manufacturing industries an asset
