The Director of Reliability Engineering will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and functional expertise to the Americas Supply Chain on capital investment to eliminate loss, reduce cost, and improve overall plant performance. This position will support site and regional teams to build long term capital investment plans that will deliver break-through performance improvement and meet the capacity requirements of the future. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for identifying new technologies and innovation that can be applied throughout the region to further reduce cost and eliminate loss.


Responsibilities


Strategic planning and development of cost justified capital investment:


  • Develop the LTP (3-5 year) cost savings capital investment pipeline to build capability and eliminate loss
  • Analyze loss data to build business cases including calculations of savings and high-level capital costs to reduce loss and operational cost
  • Drive the standardized use of data in the supply chain to support loss elimination, engagement, and capability building.
  • Interface with Americas and Global CCI teams to support the development of the next generation CCI agenda and to ensure a coordinated and aligned approach to margin expansion.
  • Work with the CI, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify opportunities for capital investment to improve plant PR


Strategic planning of capital investment to address long term capacity needs:


  • Analyze capacity constraints and recommend options to reduce via capital investment w/ business case justification development
  • Assist in the long term evolution and development of the Americas supply chain to ensure business and cost objectives are being met through capital investment.
  • Work with the Operations and Engineering teams to evaluate footprint optimization options and recommend options for improved or expanded footprint.


Researching new automation technologies and innovation to identify opportunities to reduce cost in the supply chain:


  • Identify opportunities to re-apply innovation currently being used in other global facilities
  • Identify cost justified opportunities for new technologies and implement pilot projects
  • Develop long term plan to ensure industry leadership through technological innovation
  • Build strategic recommendations for the ‘Supply Chain of the Future’ design in conjunction with and supporting the Americas SCLT, functional areas, and sites.


Build capability within the engineering and CI teams


  • Provide coaching to sites and Americas CI Managers, Plant Managers and Functional Directors.
  • Work with plant teams to review loss analysis and identify opportunities for improvement


Qualifications


  • Cross-functional program and/or project management experience
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment both with packaging and processing systems.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and influence across functions and across levels of the organization.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with capital project execution & management, business case development, and continuous improvement preferably in CPG company.
  • Experience with managing engineering projects.
  • Experience in working with external consultants.
  • Degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in leading significant culture change through strong people change management (including manufacturing floor), which includes ability to coach and develop others in leadership and technical competency.
  • Ability to analyse complex information to make judgments and decisions using advanced problem-solving tools.
