Director Of Communications & Marketing

Bayview Glen is currently seeking an innovative, collaborative, and strategic communications and marketing leader to fill the role of Director of Communications & Marketing. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan and communications strategy, to advance the School’s mission, reputation, and enhance the scope and effectiveness of the School’s outreach to multiple constituencies. It is an exciting time for Bayview Glen as the School embarks on the development of our 5-year strategic plan and prepares for the completion of an Athletic Centre and up-dated Lower School campus. This position will be instrumental in developing and supporting the internal and external marketing and communication channels to deliver on these and many other School priorities.

The Director of Communications and Marketing will build upon the School’s strong foundation while bringing innovation, process-driven best practices, effective project management, consistency, and sustainability to areas of marketing and special events with an expanded focus on communications, planning and strategy. The Director will oversee and actively participate in the creation, design, budget, and production of all school publications and events. Additionally, the Director will coordinate all social media, advertising, publicity, public relations and serve as the School’s spokesperson when so designated by the School. This position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement and manages two direct reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, InDesign, and Adobe Suite.
• Project Management skills to lead concurrent communications and marketing initiatives within tight timelines.
• A demonstrated passion for education. Direct experience working within the education field and the independent school environment would be considered an asset.
• Experience in using data and information to guide decision-making, balancing calculated riskswith creativity and innovation.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Strong project management skills with a successful track record in managing a variety ofcreative, persuasive marketing communication materials and projects from conceptual design todelivery and evaluation. This would include printed materials, regular newsletters, digital media,websites, and social media channels.
• An excellent storyteller leveraging all forms of communication platforms.
• Knowledge of current principles, trends and emerging issues in communications and marketing,especially as related to branding, fundraising, digital strategy and community engagement toidentify and optimize opportunities for messaging and identify and address/mitigate risks.
• Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience writing, editing, and creating the design and production of print and digitalmaterials.
• Completion of post-secondary education in communications, marketing, or other relevant area ofstudy with a minimum of 5 years of relevant progressively responsible experience working within themarketing, communications, or public relations field.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in developing and delivering marketing,communications, and advertising plans in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and connect effectively with all constituencies, including school leadership, faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, volunteers, the community, the media, and others.
