Director, Data Science (Calgary, Ab)

Team

In this newly created role and team, you will be reporting to the Vice President, Technology and building out Ziing’s tech stack. You will be utilizing bleeding edge technology and building products that are driven by generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As the Director, Data Science you will have a proven track record of building successful technology products. You will be responsible for leading our data science team, driving the development of data-driven products, and identifying new opportunities to leverage data to improve business outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement data-driven experiments to measure the effectiveness of new features and product enhancements
• Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to improve user engagement, customer retention, and revenue growth
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities for the company to leverage data to gain a competitive advantage
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and provide regular updates on data-driven insights and product performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data-driven product opportunities and develop strategies for data acquisition, modeling, and analysis
• Lead and manage a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth

What we’re looking for

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• At least 7 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of building successful technology products
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of data scientists and analysts
