Shipping/Receiving Associate, Mcf, Calgary, Ab

JBS Food Canada ULC/Mountain Creek Farms is one of the largest beef processors in Canada. We are currently recruiting a shipping/receiving worker for our Case Ready Plant located in Calgary, Alberta
As a member of the team you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
Requirements

• Maintains a clean and organized dock including, but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, refuge disposal, keeping entrances and the dock area neat and in an orderly fashion.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment, etc) as provided by the Employer
• Working in a variety of environments including wet, humid, cold
• Following sanitation standards to prevent meat contamination.
• Effectively process queries and orders in RF device.
• Performs light maintenance on all equipment used in the job.
• Displays good teamwork with the office personnel on a daily basis ensuring that issues and customer requests are handled in a timely and professional manner.
• Safely operates all warehouse equipment including sit down gas forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines, etc.
• Properly receives freight including verifying piece count, checking the freight for visible damage, signing off on the BOL and retaining copies for our records.
• Safely and efficiently loads and unloads trucks, containers, etc.

An Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following

• Experience using pallet jacks preferred
• Current Forklift Certification required
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with RF guns required
• Ability to engage in manual labor for 6-8 hours a day
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold
• Excellent work, safety and attendance record
• Ability to speak and read/comprehend in English for interaction with both clients and drivers
• Ability to lift at least 70 lbs from the ground

Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physical demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods
Work Site Environment : Noisy, Cold/refrigerated.

Earn Competitive Wages of $19.05 as per collective agreement
