Job Description

Every day, 1,000+ professionals in the P&G Communications teams (News Desk, Crisis, GCR, Brand Comms) use our platform to publish social media content, provide social care, and perform media monitoring across online news, social media, print, broadcast, and podcasts.


You will be the Product Manager of this platform.


Consumer Pulse is at the heart of consumer intelligence. We work with rich data sets (500 million+) such as news media, social media, consumer complaints, product reviews, and many more. The problems we solve have meaningful impact to P&G’s consumers.


Your mission is to capture & drive clarity of social signals across key business cases. This enables our users to create value by earning influencer advocacy and growing the reputation of P&G and our brands.


Responsibilities


As the Product Manager, you will (a) own the roadmap, (b) be responsible for its execution, (c) and work closely with end users to ensure the tools solve the intended business problems while delivering a delightful experience.


The role requires working closely with various Communications teams, IT suppliers, and our engineering team. Key responsibilities include:


  • Define, refine, and align stakeholders around the product vision
  • Ensure the Corporate Communications' strategic requirements are incorporated into the overall Consumer Pulse technology roadmap.
  • Explore and innovate with our business partners
  • Develop the training curriculum and materials for the product’s tools in conjunction with the vendors
  • Prioritize product features and capabilities
  • Partner with the P&G Communications teams (News Desk, Crisis, GCR, Brand Comms, etc...) to ensure our tools and vendors are meeting their needs and delivering value
  • Understand and represent user needs
  • Drive UX improvements to increase user adoption
  • Communicate with users via newsletters, Yammer, etc…


Qualifications


Job Qualification #1


Basic knowledge in Infrastructure Domain, IT Stewardship, and IT Operations


Building an excellent overall User Experience requires you to understand P&G's corporate security infrastructure and technology choices. This allows for a consistent and seamless experience. Examples are improvements in Single Sign On, moving support to a Service Now portal, building a knowledgebase in SharePoint, and creating a new support channel via Yammer.

Social Media savviness


The solution uses content from Social Media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram heavily. Being in touch with how brands/consumers use these platforms and social media trends will make you more effective when engaging with our end users.


Job Qualification #3


Understanding of Data Management: Information, Architecture, Governance and Quality Data Management, Data access


The foundation of the Consumer Pulse solution is data. You will regularly be looking at raw and visualized data from a variety of sources. Having an excellent understanding of how data is transferred, cleansed and enriched positions you to better troubleshoot issues and generate new ideas for our end users.


Job Qualification #4


Natural Language Processing (NLP) - Hands on experience (or a deep interest in learning) in the application of NLP techniques for enriching data.


We use machine learning in many of our tools. Having a solid understanding of practical concepts enables you to (1) explain the capabilities to the end users, (2) better articulate issues/ideas back to the product team, and (3) build experiments to validate ideas.


Skills Needed


Outside of the technical skills mentioned above, you are expected to have strong verbal / written communication skills, collaboration skills, and be meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
