Position Summary

Experienced Design & Engineering department member who prepares high-quality shop drawings for our Operations department within the estimated budget. Responsible for continuously reviewing, detailing, and managing multiple customer projects to meet drawing submittal and release deadlines.

Primary Accountabilities

• Communicate with Engineers, Sales, Project Managers, and customers professionally.
• Prepares internally reviewed letters to designers for information requests, technical guidance, transmittal comments/questions, etc.
• Provide design layouts and detailing that require independent research, compile, and record information for an assigned project.
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Competent in multiple conventional aspects of greenhouse design.
• Prepare material lists and takeoffs for projects of moderate size and complexity with oversite.
• Monitor, minimize, and focus on hours spent on all projects.
• Perform basic greenhouse or greenhouse systems drafting assignments independently, as requested by Design Manager.
• Consistently demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail; proven track record in completing small- and large-scale projects with little oversight.
• Detail, independently, one or more Prospiant product lines in preparation for submittal of Approval /Shop/Fabrication drawings for our Operations department, clients/customers using CAD/CAM software.
• Use all available resources to provide professional and accurate documents within an established time frame.
• Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of greenhouse designs for projects of moderate size and complexity with minimal oversite.

Secondary Accountabilities

• We are committed to successfully mentoring junior staff.
• In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Architecture, Detailing, or related field, preferred. In place of a professional degree, experience drafting in architectural firms, Fabrication, or construction industries will be considered.
• Works independently with minimal guidance.
• Respond quickly when time is the most crucial aspect of your work.
• 3+ years' experience in Design and Fabrication.
• Able to see beyond current tasks and consider the impacts of your work and processes on other internal and external components/phases of the project.
• Provides ideas and helps the design group to implement continuous improvement initiatives identified in yearly and long-term goals.
• Confident in finding internal and external resources that are needed for specific projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Prepares documents for customers and designers, such as information requests, technical guidance, transmittal comments/questions, etc.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
