Data Center Power/Perf and System Management Team.
The Role
As Power/Perf Domain Engineer Lead, you will drive planning, validation, and debug of various hardware IP and FW controlled power/perf features for forthcoming AMD Data Center products from Pre-silicon to Post-silicon.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Validation Engineer to define and execute the end-to-end test plan and validation strategy for a set of AMD IP's and FW components. In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical innovation to enhance AMD’s capabilities in IP and cross-IP validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives. You will work directly with SOC architect and HW designers to review plan coverage and execution strategies. Additionally, responsible are:
  • Leading collaborative test approach with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
  • Developing knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Working closely with supporting teams in design, diagnostics, emulation, firmware, and driver to ensure readiness for first silicon arrival, enablement of IP functionality, debug of critical features, and full validation for production
  • Debugging issues found during pre-silicon, bring up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
  • Validating integrated hardware, firmware, and software functionalities with all corners to ensure problem-free production
  • Drive and execute pre-silicon verification, including but not limited to FPGA-based emulation, Design Verification (DV), and other software/hardware modeling frameworks
  • Supporting issues on customer platforms as requested by customer support teams
Preferred Experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of computer organization/architecture, Machine Learning, HPC
  • Power, performance, or thermal management experience would be helpful
  • Strong understanding of digital electronics and CMOS devices
  • Strong knowledge in developing and debugging system hardware and software or firmware for embedded systems
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Strong analytical skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Prior experience with FPGA emulation for VLSI systems
  • Prior years of working experiences in the semiconductor industry
  • Security/cryptography experience would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge in C, Python, and any scripting languages
Academic Credentials
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science
