Who We Are Looking For

State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) – Bionics is seeking a skilled and proven Data and Technology QA Engineer, Officer. The individual contributor in this role will be responsible for manual and automated testing of data driven analytics applications and automations to ensure product quality and usability. The candidate will develop test plans and test cases, traceability metrics and leverage automated testing frameworks to automate full life cycle testing to improve analytics software quality and increase speed of delivery. They work closely with the data scientists, database engineers, business analysts, and users to understand scope, functionality and system design to develop comprehensive test coverage and maintain testing metrics and report status.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As a Data and Technology QA Engineer, Officer, you will

• Work closely with the Business to support UAT & Prod deployments
• Perform Functional, System Integration, and other testing and supervise testing activities for data synthesis and insight generating tools and automation code.
• Work closely with the development and business teams to understand the product roadmap, features, user stories and acceptance criteria to develop full life cycle test plans and test cases and map requirements to test cases to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Work closely with the product development teams to improve speed of delivery.
• Create, maintain and report testing metrics with a passion to constantly improve product quality and usability.
• Design and develop testing and execute automation scripts on a scheduled basis.

• Solid understanding of SDLC processes, testing strategies and processes
• Ability to query large data sets using SQL or big data technologies tools.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Strong technology insights with demonstrated ability to work across teams.
• Results oriented ownership mentality.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
• Strong knowledge of both waterfall and agile SDLCs.
• Strong planning skills and experience in large, complex projects
• Ability to work with team leaders to define and shape strategy, prioritize complicated interdependent work efforts.
• 5+ years proven experience.
• Strong communication skills and relationship management capabilities;
• Demonstrated experience working in a global environment managing multiple, concurrent deliverables with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of and experience testing products related to automation (via Python, .NET, VB), visualization (Tableau), machine learning, analytic models, data mining, and big data (Hadoop, Apache stack) are a plus.
• Prior work experience in a financial company is a plus.
