Bilingual Client Accounts Specialist


What Our Client’s Bilingual Client Accounts Specialist Looks Like:


Our client’s Bilingual Client Accounts Specialist is a self-driven relationship builder who has exceptional communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. They think outside the box when looking for remedial solutions for clients. They will be organized and responsible for effectively managing their time when working on multiple competing deadlines. This position reports to the Manager, Client Accounts Management.



The following is an outline of this job’s general nature and level of work performed. It is not a comprehensive inventory of all duties and responsibilities required for this role.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:


  • Be a point of contact for clients and vendors; handling out/inbound calls with a positive professional attitude.


  • Negotiate payment arrangements for clients in default, maintaining established objectives for delinquencies and net losses.


  • Managing insolvencies and preparation of proof of claims; research and address any client account discrepancies.


  • Handling defaults with speed and accuracy while maintaining professionalism.


  • Control the risk on assigned portfolios, complying with regulatory requirements pertaining to collections and enforcement.


  • Collaborate with other departmental teams to review early delinquencies or ensure payments are correctly processed.


  • Able to recognize, escalate and make recommendations for more complex issues or risk mitigation to Management.


Qualifications & Attributes:


  • At least 1 – 2 years experience in default/collections or administration in the residential mortgage lending industry


  • Thorough understanding of collections/recovery practices, and mortgage enforcement practices


  • Fluent in French and English (reading, writing and spoken)


  • Confident using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel etc.


  • Exceptional time-management, organization, and attention to detail with the proven ability to multi-task and prioritize competing deadlines


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
