Key Accountabilities

• Other duties as assigned.
• Regularly audit the workforce to ensure that Employees are trained and certified to do the work they are performing and ensure that training and certification is provided in areas where workers require training or retraining.
• Ensure that new Employees comply with all the OHSA and Regulations and training requirements while conducting training.
• Based on the requirements of the Ontario Common Core Modules for Underground Hard Rock Mining, ensure that all Employees meet the requirements to be certified in the work they are performing.
• Ensure that all Cementation project personnel are trained in their job responsibilities, understand, and comply with company policies and procedures and work in accordance with the OSHA and Regulations.
• Consult with the Cementation projects and safety superintendents on site specific training requirements.
• This position has the requirement for frequent travel to our project sites and offices. Travel period may range from one day to several weeks. Travel may include overseas travel.
• Provide a record of employee training and certification, such as the Ontario Common Core, to the North Bay Office for the purposes of record keeping, while ensuring registration with appropriate agencies.
• Provide Fall Protection and WHMIS training as required and forward all required training records to North Bay.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

• Work with minimal supervision.
• Self-critical of own work.
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Possess a strong understanding of confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to work in a team environment, be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Train the Trainer.
• First Aid Training Instructor or willing to obtain.
• 10-15 years of experience, preferably in the mining industry.
• Relevant College or University Education.
• Ontario Common Core Modules for modules that are being trained.
• Mine Rescue Certification or Mine Rescue Instructor.
• Supervisory Common Core.
• Advanced Rigging.
• Working at Heights Train the Trainer Certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Has no direct reports.
