Salary Range

Effective April 9, 2023 $51,400.36 - $70,557.73 annually, plus a Temporary Market Adjustment of $53.77 - $247.40 bi-weekly. (48,729.07 annually for new recruits during the 33 day training program). In addition, a benefits package worth up to approximately $16,000 annually.

Job Summary

Be a Role Model, Be a Peace Officer -Join BC Corrections

As a Correctional Officer, you are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of thosein custody through fair and equitable programming, guidance and direction. In this position, you will take an active role in creating a supportive environment by providing opportunities for positive attitude and behavioural change through community service work.

Adult Custody, part of the Corrections Branch, is responsible for the care of approximately 2,800 individuals in our care. This division plays a leading role in the criminal justice system through offender management and control.

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent*
• Valid BC Driver's licence (minimum class 5), or equivalent from another province.
• 19 years of age or older
• Grade 12 English with a final grade of 70% or equivalent*

• Legally entitled to work in Canada (you must be legally permitted to work in Canada at the time you apply for a position)
