Job Description

The Selkirk & District Community Foundation is a“Here for Good” charity that impacts the charitable and non-profit sector within the City of Selkirk, R.M. of St Andrews and R.M. of St Clements.SDCF is seeking to hire a Community Development Officer to deliver and lead the Community Grant Program and Vital Signs Report.


Qualifications:

Essential:

·Four+ years experience within the community-based charitable/non-profit sector.

·Experience in leading, delivering and monitoring community-focused granting and leadership programs.

·Strong communication skills both verbal and written, delivered through various platforms and tools.

·Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.

·Ability to coordinate internal and public meetings along with special events.

·Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to meet deadlines.

·Proven ability to develop trust-based relationships with community partners.

·Able to work efficiently in a small team setting as well as independently.

·Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.


Desired:

·Knowledge of and working experience within SDCF’s catchment.

·Post-secondary education connected to charitable/non-profit sector community-development sector.

·Experience in working with volunteer boards


Conditions of Employment:

·Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

·Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

·Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.

·Able to work within a public office setting and off-site work environment.
