Job Summary

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food is responsible for the production, marketing, processing, and merchandising of agriculture and seafood products, as well as supporting our province's food security, and developing a resilient food system and economy.


The Office Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, planning and management of office administrative functions, human resources, payroll, records management, facilities and assets management for the Extension and Support Services Branch. This position is also responsible for supervising up to three (3) administrative assistants.


Job Requirements


  • At least one (1) year of experience providing both administrative and financial support services.
  • A combination of five (5) years' administrative support experience, education and/or training.
  • Secondary school graduation, or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of experience supervising/leading others, including training staff, establishing priorities and allocating work, appraising performance, etc.


Preference may be given to applicants with 2 years or more of this experience.


  • At least one (1) year of experience using eApproval, CLIFF, and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.


Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:


  • Financial experience with a focus on budget development and forecasting.
  • Experience working with ARCS/ORCS systems.
  • Experience in both administrative and financial programs within the BC government.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of Visio.
