Position Overview


Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Program Team Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.


Experience


  • Charge Nurse experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years recent high risk Labour and Delivery experience and/or L.D.R.P. nursing experience required.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.


Certification/Licensure/Registration


  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.
  • Current CRNM registration required.


NOTE: Successful completion and on-going renewal of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.


Qualifications And Skills


  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
