Client Finance Analyst
Description
Responsible for providing financial management and analysis for the finance team. Serves as the primary finance contact for a portfolio of clients, specifically for the B2C practice. Provides financial analysis and reporting in order to inform financial business decisions and ensure all financial aspects of each client are properly managed. Provides finance support to project management teams and coordinate with them at month end close to keep track of project status. Forecast company revenue/billings, review scopes of work, and price staff plans. Maintain the overall integrity of the financial and management reporting process, and ensure compliance with all SOX and specific client requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Support overall budgeting and re-forecasting efforts; support for Monthly Flash, Quarterly Reforecast and Annual Budget and Forward Plan.
- Book month-end accounting entries for projects in progress; ensure proper closure of projects upon completion; timely review of unbilled or deferred revenue balances by project.
- Work with IPG Controllers team with regards to Sarbanes Oxley process compliance (implementation and monitoring), as well as support various audit compliance efforts (internal and external). This includes maintenance and documentation of Client Service Agreements (CSA’s).
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely billing and sufficient cash flow for the agency. Oversee the collection of past-due accounts; ensure adherence to contract billing policies; provide summaries of monthly billing and reconciliations.
- Partner with client-facing account directors and project managers to maintain expert and fluid knowledge of client’s business models, contractual arrangements, key strengths, and opportunities.
- Opening projects and ensuring ratecards and pertinent details of each project are maintained and documented on the system.
- Manage day to day Finance responsibilities on Clients including but not limited to client/product/job setup, production invoices, ad hoc reporting, and vendor payment issues.
- Proactively document and follow up on any budgeting, billing, invoicing, or payment issues that pertain to Clients.
- Forecast, analyze and report revenue by client consistent with policies and GAAP; analyze company profitability by client and by individual service line.
Requirements
- SAP and Salesforce experience is an asset
- Ability to Support Eastern Standard Time Zone Hours
- Attention to detail with ability to interpret SOWs and other financial contracts
- Innately curious with an inquisitive attitude
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related degree with on-the-job accounting experience
- Audit background is a plus
- Hands on operational experience with strong background in revenue recognition, i.e. % of completion
- Process driven, ideally with experience standardizing across multiple companies or divisions
- At least 5 years of experience in a professional Financial Analyst or Revenue Recognition focused position
- Highly skilled in MS Excel to track revenue forecasting
- Experience in the professional services industry is a plus
- Experience managing/analyzing billing and revenues
